I’m Tom White, an expert scientific copy editor with experience in publishing and medical communications.

You

My clients are med comms agencies, pharmaceutical companies, publishers, scientists, journalists, industry bodies and anyone else who produces copy about science.

The work

My rate is £40 per hour. My first draft editing pace is approximately 1000 words or 10 slides per hour, but this will, of course, be content dependent.

My bread and butter:

• Copy editing
• Proofreading
• Line-by-line comparison
• Veeva uploads
• Checking creative amends
• Document formatting

I’m handy with Word, PowerPoint and Excel (although yet to figure out how to monetise pivot tables). I have an up-to-date Office 365 licence and a shiny new laptop, so I shouldn’t need any software/hardware from you. I’m also pretty sharp marking up PDFs in Adobe Reader.

I’m open to a day rate if you prefer, and more than happy to come into your office if that is helpful.
